The Babcock family serves as full time missionaries in Baja California Mexico. Their heart is for children who have been abandoned or abused and as a result, are living in orphanages. They especially love serving those orphans who have disabilities and special needs.

Bob and Jessica

Bob and Jessica have been happily married for 14 years and have 4 wonderful children. They met while Jessica was on deputation to prepare for a two year term in Haiti as a missionary. Despite their courtship being almost exclusively through letters while Jessica was away serving, it did not take long for both of them to realize that God had hand picked each of them for the other.

Bob and Jessica's marriage is one marked by trust, commitment and faithfulness. To the Lord and each other. They have always been like minded in service and committed to listening to the voice of the Lord and following Him no matter the cost.

Following the Lord is not always easy but the Babcock's would say that no matter what, it's always worth it.

They look to Isaiah 58:10-11 to encourage them in life and ministry.

"And if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry
and satisfy the needs of the oppressed,
then your light will rise in the darkness,
and your night will become like the noonday.
11 The Lord will guide you always;
he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land
    and will strengthen your frame.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
like a spring whose waters never fail"

Ezekiel, Eleanore, Lucas and Jose Manuel

The Babcock Children all have a special role in the family ministry but simply as individuals, each of them are a wonderful blessing to those who know them.

Ezekiel has a special heart for loving on people. He is the first to hug a stranger and the first to offer kindness to any person in need. He does have a diagnosis of ADHD and is likely on the autism spectrum but that never stops him from being a light to those around him. It's a priority for Bob and Jessica to recognize and encourage him, as well as all of their children in their strengths and lead them on to become who the Lord has created them to be.

Lucas blessed the Babcock Family by joining them through adoption when he was only one month old. He was considered medically fragile and has overcome some very grim prognosis. Doctors said that he would be blind, never walk, talk or see but through lots of prayer and therapy, Lucas is a bright, kind, loving and capable little boy today. Having cerebral palsy has never stopped him. He is as hardworking as they come and takes great pleasure in being helpful in any way he can. He is a gift and a joy to his family. As Jessica says to him most every day "You didn't grow in my tummy, you grew in my heart"

Eleanore is the princess of the family and desires one day to be a nurse. Every living creature brings her an opportunity to be a caregiver. All humans, bugs, mammals, snails and plants are safe and well taken care of when she is around. She is especially good with her adopted brother Jose and loves to rock him and help with his tube feeding.

Jose Manuel is the newest addition to the Babcock family, although by age he is the oldest of the children. Jose was violently shaken as a baby and as a result is developmentally the age of a newborn. He can neither walk speak or see, and needs to be fed through a tube directly into his stomach. Despite all these things, he is deeply loved by his family. The Babcock's met Jose while serving at the orphanage he was living at in Mexico. Despite the challenges that are an obvious part of caring for a child with severe medical needs, Jose brings his new family so much joy. He is a perfect and precious human being. He is immeasurably valuable in the sight of the Lord as well as to his Mom and Dad, brothers and sister.
